Let Eleanor = 5x, Navin = 2x
Difference = 5x - 2x = 3x = 18
Therefore x = 18 ÷ 3 = 6
Eleanor = 5 × 6 = 30

Ratio of ages of Sunil to Jasper is 4:3, and the difference is 5. How old is Sunil?
Let Sunil = 4x, Jasper = 3x
Difference = 4x - 3x = 1x = 5
